To install Istio on EKS with kubectl, we will need to use helm to generate the manifest and use kubectlto apply.
Install Istio Init
curl -L https://git.io/getLatestIstio | ISTIO_VERSION=1.3.3 sh -
cd istio-1.3.3
helm template install/kubernetes/helm/istio-init --namespace istio-system | kubectl apply -f -
Install Istio Demo
kubectl apply -f install/kubernetes/istio-demo.yaml
