What are the causes of mosaics on LED displays?

The mosaic effect on LED displays may be caused by many reasons. Mosaic usually occurs when some areas on the display are blurry, distorted, or garbled. The following are some possible causes of mosaic on LED displays:

Signal source problems: Signal source problems are one of the common causes of mosaics on the display. There may be a problem with the signal source device itself, or there may be a problem with the interface connecting the signal cable.

Cable failure: If there is a problem with the cable connecting the LED display, such as breakage, short circuit, or loose connection, it may cause poor signal transmission and cause mosaic phenomenon.

Driver board failure: LED displays usually contain one or more driver boards, which are responsible for controlling the brightness and color of the LED. If the driver board fails, it may cause mosaic on the display.

Control card problem: The control card is one of the key components used to control the entire LED display. If the control card fails, it may cause abnormal display images, including mosaic effects. What should I do if the LED display screen cannot load images?

Refresh rate mismatch: If the refresh rate of the LED display does not match the refresh rate of the signal source, it may cause abnormalities in the displayed image, including the mosaic effect.

Power supply problem: Unstable or low-quality power supply may cause insufficient or unstable power supply to the LED display, thus affecting the display effect.

Overheating: Working for a long time or the ambient temperature is too high may cause the internal components of the LED display to overheat, affecting its normal operation and causing mosaic.

Module failure: LED displays are usually composed of multiple modules. If one of the modules fails, it may cause a mosaic effect in a local area. What is an LED display module?

How to deal with the mosaic phenomenon in full-color LED displays?

Usually, the solution to this problem is simply to replace the affected LED module. However, if you want to repair the LED module that causes mosaic, you can only repair it by returning it to the factory for the following reasons:

First of all, during the LED display manufacturing process, manufacturers will select the same batch of red, green, and blue LED lights and re-classify the batches of LED lights. For constant current devices, we perform inter-chip binning, which is divided into 5 levels, and ensure that the constant current sources of each level are evenly distributed across the entire screen to ensure the production of LED unit boards. Standard production fixtures are used to ensure that the LED lights are in the same balanced position within the same module. The control mold manufacturing process is formulated to ensure that all LED lights in the module have no abnormal deviation in the horizontal, up and down, and front and rear directions.

After potting, use the standard front cover to secure the lamp. Each LED unit board must undergo single-module brightness adjustment, that is, white balance fine-tuning, to ensure uniform white balance between modules. The modules are assembled into a box body, which adopts a steel plate structure and is reinforced at appropriate locations. This ensures the rigidity and flatness of the box plane. The stamping and bending of the box body are formed in one step using CNC equipment, and CNC punching machines are used to ensure the accuracy of module installation in place, with a moderate margin left to eliminate accumulated errors.
