beehiiv prices by list size, so the number on the front page ("from $49") tells you very little. This guide lists every plan, the subscriber cap on each, and the price at 1,000, 10,000 and 50,000 subscribers. All figures were read from beehiiv's own pricing page on 6 November 2026, using the page's subscriber slider. If you want to try it, you can start on the free plan, which needs no card.
The four plans at a glance
| Free | Lite | Pro | Enterprise | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Price at 1,000 subscribers (yearly billing) | $0 | $49/mo | $95/mo | Custom |
| Subscriber cap | 2,500 | 100,000 | 250,000 | Custom |
| Team seats | 1 | 2 | 10 | Unlimited |
| Guest authors | 1 | 3 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Publications | 1 | 3 | 10 | Custom |
| Analytics lookback | 30 days | 12 months | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Remove beehiiv branding | No | No | Yes | Yes |
| Onboarding | Self-serve | Self-serve | Self-serve | Concierge |
Every plan includes unlimited email sends, a website, podcast hosting, a community and digital products. beehiiv's FAQ says what changes as you move up is limits, support and advanced features, not which products you can use.
What each tier unlocks
Free gives you unlimited sends, deliverability tooling, email templates, landing pages, the recommendation network, and API and integrations. The cap is 2,500 subscribers. It does not include paid subscriptions, ad monetization or automations, so it is a place to start a list, not to earn from one.
Lite is the first tier that earns money. It adds paid subscriptions (beehiiv takes 0% of the revenue), ad monetization, automations, the beehiiv MCP, audience polls and A/B testing. It allows 2 seats, 3 publications and 12 months of analytics.
Pro adds removal of beehiiv branding, webinars and coaching, advanced analytics, AI credits, webhooks, dynamic content and 24/7 priority support. Seats go to 10 and guest authors become unlimited. The cap rises to 250,000 subscribers.
Enterprise is custom: SSO/SAML, dedicated IPs, a customer success manager, concierge onboarding, workspace templates and custom rate limits. beehiiv says to talk to sales for this tier; Lite and Pro are self-serve.
What it costs at 1k, 10k and 50k subscribers
The price tier follows your active subscriber count, and beehiiv counts unique email addresses. These are the prices the slider showed, per month.
| Subscribers | Lite (yearly billing) | Lite (monthly billing) | Pro (yearly billing) | Pro (monthly billing) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1,000 | $49 | $59 | $95 | $109 |
| 2,500 | $69 | $79 | $129 | $149 |
| 5,000 | $95 | $109 | $169 | $199 |
| 10,000 | $119 | $139 | $199 | $239 |
| 25,000 | $169 | $199 | $299 | $349 |
| 50,000 | $249 | $299 | $399 | $469 |
| 100,000 | $399 | $469 | $599 | $699 |
At 2,500 subscribers the Free plan still applies, so it costs $0 if you do not need paid features. Above 100,000, Lite is no longer offered and Pro continues on the slider; beehiiv shows $689 per month on yearly billing at 150,000 subscribers.
Annualised on yearly billing, Lite at 1,000 subscribers is $588 a year, at 10,000 it is $1,428 and at 50,000 it is $2,988. Pro at the same sizes is $1,140, $2,388 and $4,788. beehiiv says yearly billing saves "up to 20%" over monthly. On the figures above the gap is $10 to $70 a month depending on the tier.
The ad revenue figure beside the price
Both paid plan cards show "Ad monetization, Avg. $39/mo" at 1,000 subscribers, and the figure changes as you move the slider. We recorded it at $39 for 1,000 and 2,500 subscribers, $78 at 5,000, $128 at 10,000, $180 at 25,000 and $255 at 50,000. It is beehiiv's own average for publishers on the platform, not a guarantee, and it says nothing about your niche, your open rates or how many sponsors you can sell. Treat it as the vendor's marketing number. It is still useful as a reality check on the cheap end: at 1,000 subscribers an average ad income of $39 would not cover a $49 Lite plan.
Where beehiiv is the weaker pick on price
- Small lists. Kit's free plan covers up to 10,000 subscribers and includes digital products and subscriptions, per Kit's help center. beehiiv's free plan stops at 2,500 and cannot charge readers. We compare the two in detail in beehiiv vs Kit (ConvertKit).
- Paying to monetize from day one. To sell a paid newsletter on beehiiv you need Lite, which is $49 a month at 1,000 subscribers. On Substack there is no monthly bill and a 10% fee instead. See beehiiv vs Substack for the break-even point.
- Large lists with no ad plan. Price rises with every tier. At 50,000 subscribers Lite is $249 a month before you earn anything.
- Mailchimp users who only send email. Mailchimp's Essentials tier is cheaper at 1,000 contacts ($26.50 on its pricing page) but costs more at 50,000 ($385). Details are in beehiiv vs Mailchimp.
Where beehiiv is a good fit
If you plan to earn from sponsors or paid readers, the maths favors a flat fee. beehiiv's FAQ says it takes 0% of paid subscription and digital product revenue, and you keep what you earn minus Stripe's standard processing fee of 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction. Unlimited sends mean a daily newsletter costs the same as a monthly one, which matters if you are comparing against tools that meter sends.
What the pricing page does not tell you
- It does not publish what happens in detail when you pass a subscriber cap, beyond saying you upgrade to the next plan type.
- It does not quantify the "AI Credits" listed as HIGH on Pro, so we cannot state a number.
- The Enterprise price is not published.
- Prices exclude taxes, and the slider can change without notice, so check the live page before you commit.
How to choose a plan
- Under 2,500 subscribers and no plan to charge: stay on Free. Nothing on the page forces an upgrade until you pass the cap.
- Want to charge readers or sell ads: budget for Lite. At 1,000 subscribers that is $588 a year on yearly billing, so it pays off once paid revenue and ad income comfortably exceed it.
- Several writers or a branded product: Pro, because branding removal, 10 seats and unlimited guest authors only start there.
- Over 250,000 subscribers or need SSO: Enterprise, which means a call with sales.
Verdict
Choose Free to build a list up to 2,500 subscribers. Move to Lite when you want paid subscriptions, ads or automations. Choose Pro when you need to remove beehiiv branding, run a larger team or want priority support. Look elsewhere if your list is large but you do not plan to monetize it, or if you want the biggest free tier.
