Before traveling somewhere new, I prefer to sort out my mobile data before leaving home. It means I can use maps, messaging apps, and travel services as soon as I arrive instead of searching for a SIM card.
While comparing Jersey eSIM plans, I found that "unlimited" doesn't mean every plan performs the same way.
AloOui's three options have different high-speed allowances:
Lite: 1GB/day at full speed, then 512 Kbps
Essential: 1GB/day at 4G LTE speed, then 1.25 Mbps
Plus: 2GB/day at Max Priority 4G LTE speed, then 2 Mbps
All three provide unlimited data, instant delivery, and flexible trip durations.
For a normal sightseeing trip, Essential is a practical middle-ground option. It gives you enough high-speed data for maps, browsing, messaging, and everyday travel apps.
If you're working remotely or regularly using video calls, streaming, large uploads, or hotspot, Plus gives you more high-speed data to work with.
Another useful tip is to download offline maps before exploring Jersey's coastal paths, cliff walks, or rural parishes. Even with unlimited data, having offline navigation available is useful when you're somewhere with weaker signal.
If you're planning a trip to Jersey, here's the full comparison of the three plans:
