Before traveling somewhere new, I prefer to sort out my mobile data before leaving home. It means I can use maps, messaging apps, and travel services as soon as I arrive instead of searching for a SIM card.
While comparing Paraguay eSIM plans, I found that "unlimited" doesn't mean every plan performs the same way.
AloOui's three options have different high-speed allowances:
- Lite: 1GB/day at full speed, then 512 Kbps
- Essential: 1GB/day at 4G LTE speed, then 1.25 Mbps
- Plus: 2GB/day at Max Priority 4G LTE speed, then 2 Mbps
All three provide unlimited data and instant delivery.
For a normal sightseeing trip, Essential is a practical middle-ground option. It provides high-speed data for maps, browsing, messaging, and everyday travel apps.
If you're working remotely or regularly using video calls, streaming, large uploads, or hotspot, Plus gives you more high-speed data to work with.
I'd also recommend downloading offline maps before traveling through rural parts of Paraguay. Even with an unlimited eSIM, having offline navigation available is useful when you're outside areas with stronger coverage.
