Beta Access Locked to Teams and Enterprise

Claude Motion appears only in beta for two subscription tiers. It is on by default for Team plans, while Enterprise plans keep it off until an owner activates it in Organization settings > Artifacts. This limited rollout means most users cannot experiment with the feature unless they belong to a qualifying plan.

Animations Built as Editable Code

Unlike generative media that synthesize footage, Claude Motion creates animations from code. The service translates prompts into code that animates text, charts, shapes, and images, then plays the result as a short animation. Because each output is code, a user can alter a single word, number, or timing without rebuilding the whole piece, and the rest of the animation remains unchanged.

Why a Code‑Centric Approach Matters

A code‑centric workflow offers version control and precise edits, traits familiar to developers but rare in typical animation tools. Each animation is saved as an artifact, allowing users to revisit and modify past creations without starting over. This granularity reduces the friction of iterative design and aligns the tool with existing software development pipelines.

Who Controls the Feature and How It Is Delivered

Claude Motion is delivered through the same interface that provides other Claude artifacts. Access is governed by the organization’s settings, giving administrators the ability to enable or disable the feature across their user base. The artifact system ensures that every generated animation is stored alongside other outputs, making it searchable and reusable within the same workspace.

What This Means for Prospective Users

For teams that already operate on the Team plan, Claude Motion is ready to use without additional steps. Enterprise customers must deliberately turn the feature on, adding a layer of administrative oversight. The code‑first model promises easier iteration, but the gated availability limits its immediate impact to organizations that have invested in the higher‑tier subscriptions. Users must weigh the benefits of editable code against the cost of upgrading to a plan that includes the beta feature.
