Does anything set WaPo apart from other publications wrt charging for content, paywalls, etc? Have you found that the needs of running a business (namely, making money) affect (interfere, even) with the work you do?
I am a developer at The Washington Post and I help build newsroom facing tools. I also am the Chair of the DC chapter of ACM and produce a podcast called DC Tech Stories.
Actually I don't touch ANY of that. 100% of my time is for coding on my specific teams suite of apps - I'm not involved in strategy, business, or any of that :) . We have an Engineering team of 250-300 devs - I am assuming SOME of them are involved with that but not me!
