surely you could get a usb-c to display port cable or a dongle for use with a new mac.
any comparable replacement is gonna be $$$$, why change the monitor if it works fine?

There are many reason.

  • It is at least 6 years old and discontinued which means finding parts for it will be harder
  • Its out of warranty
  • It won't work with newer macs unless you use adaptors
  • It does work fine however sometimes you can hear the fan revving up and down and then its audible in the background. It never used to do this which means it's likely to be going faulty. So better to upgrade now.
