Installing Fedora the RIGHT way.

Sharing my experience with installing Fedora Linux (dual boot) to help others with similar issues, including the errors I faced and their solutions.

(Proceed at your own risk; some methods may not be ideal for security. I used them because they worked for me.)

Laptop: Acer A715-75 (my model)

Before making any changes, back up important data.

Errors I Encountered and How to Fix Them

Error 1: The available storage for shrinking was less than expected (110GB showed only 25GB).

I used "AOMEI PARTITION ASSISTANT" to fix this.
Use "RUFUS" software to create a bootable USB. If this doesn’t work, try the Fedora Media Writer.

RESTART and access the boot options.

IMPORTANT: Ensure SATA is set to AHCI. For Acer, this option isn't directly available. Go to "main" in boot options, press CTRL + S, and you'll be able to change the SATA setting.

Disable SECURE boot and FAST boot.

Enable BOOT MENU to switch between Windows and Linux.

Error 2: After restarting, Linux couldn't detect any drives/disks.
(To fix this, follow the steps labeled IMPORTANT)

My Linux was finally up and running! And then, another error🤖!

Error 3: Switching from Linux to Windows in the boot menu caused Windows to crash with a blue screen.
Thankfully, built-in troubleshooting helped. Windows repaired itself, and I could use the option displayed on the blue screen ‘continue using Windows 11’.

To switch to Fedora, follow these steps:

RESTART --> go to boot menu --> select Fedora.

Congratulations you just installed Fedora!
