A Compiler Can Tell You If Your Code Is Wrong. It Can't Tell You If You're Right.

How much code I knew.

There is a saying: he who knows everything knows nothing.

It's important to find a balance. Don't delve too deeply into a topic that's too narrowly specialized and won't be needed in a few years. Think broader.

So true. No point spending months down a hyper-specific rabbit hole just for that tech to vanish in two years. Foundational logic over temporary hype any day!

This hit home. I used to think knowing more tech was the whole game, but watching senior devs changed that. They ask questions first, listen more, and care about people, not just code. That login example is gold, "slow" usually means confusing, not just performance.
Code reviews stopped feeling personal when I saw them as shared ownership. Tech fades, but trust, patience, and clarity stick. That's what makes people want to build with you again. Enjoy the Techno Gamerz video, sounds like the perfect break.

I love this. πŸ˜„ The line β€œSometimes they’re hidden inside assumptions.” hit harder than it should. I’ve lost count of how many β€œtechnical” problems turned out to be communication problems instead. Amazing post… now go enjoy that Techno Gamerz video, you’ve earned it. πŸ˜‚

Sorry... for the really late reply. πŸ˜… I've been... um... busy with my studies lately, so I haven't been around much.

But... thank you, seriously! :D Reading your comment made me smile. I'm really glad that line stood out to you because... well... that's exactly what I was trying to get across.

And... yeah... you're right. So many "technical" problems end up being communication problems in disguise.

Also... I finally got to that Techno Gamerz video. Thanks again for such a thoughtful comment...

Hey! Running in power-saving mode over here too β€” but this one definitely came out at 100% battery 🀣 The "compiler checks your code, people judge your career" line hit me hard. That login example β€” one dev optimizes queries, the other asks what "slow" actually means β€” I've been the first guy way too many times. Still unlearning it.
Great read!

HahaπŸ™‚ Thank you! Don't worry, we've all been that "optimize first, ask questions later" developer. πŸ˜… At least the compiler forgives us... managers usually don't. πŸ˜„ Thanks for reading and sharing this!

Thank you for sharing such a great article✨.

I agree with your perspective. I also feel that what we build with code is a tool for solving problems, and sometimes communication between people is just as important as the code itselfπŸ€—.

One thing experience teaches is that being right isn't always enough. Understanding the problem, listening to others, and being open during code reviews often have a bigger impact than knowing one more framework. I enjoyed reading this. Thanks for sharing πŸ˜€
