Building Web3 Apps in India — A Developer's Perspective 2026

Web3 development in India has matured significantly over the last three years. The speculative frenzy of 2021 has given way to more grounded use cases — real applications with genuine utility, enterprise integrations, and infrastructure-level tooling.

For developers and businesses building Web3 applications in India in 2026, the technical landscape looks quite different from what it did at the height of the NFT boom.

*The Current Web3 Stack in India
*

Ethereum remains the dominant smart contract platform for projects requiring maximum security and decentralisation. But Polygon, BNB Chain, and Solana have captured significant market share for applications where transaction speed and gas costs matter more than maximum decentralisation.
On the frontend, most Web3 applications are built with React or Next.js. Wallet integration uses ethers.js or viem. The wagmi library has become the standard for React-based wallet connectivity. Backend indexing increasingly uses The Graph for querying on-chain data efficiently.
IPFS and Arweave are the primary solutions for decentralised storage — metadata, images, and documents that need to persist without central hosting.

*What Has Changed Since 2021
*

The NFT marketplace rush has largely ended. Developers who built five NFT marketplaces in 2021 are now building real estate tokenisation platforms, gaming economies, and enterprise document verification systems. The use cases have become more specific and the technical requirements more demanding.

DeFi has consolidated. The number of DeFi protocols has shrunk but the surviving ones are more technically sophisticated. Building a DeFi protocol in 2026 requires formal verification, multiple audit rounds, and a thorough understanding of MEV and liquidity dynamics.

Account abstraction is the most significant recent development. ERC-4337 allows smart contract wallets that remove the need for seed phrase management — making Web3 applications usable by mainstream users who are not already crypto-native.

*Finding a Web3 Development Partner in India
*

When looking for a Web3 development company Chandigarh or anywhere in India, the most important filter is verified mainnet deployments. Ask for Etherscan or BscScan links. Ask about their experience with account abstraction and ERC-4337 if you are building consumer-facing applications.
IT Marketz at Sector 82, Mohali has been delivering blockchain and Web3 development since 2019 for clients in India, the USA, and the UAE. Their team covers Solidity, Rust for Solana, ethers.js, React Web3 frontends, and smart contract security practices.
