Hello My Devs Friends,
About Six years ago, I started my meditation journey because of an accident of mine. Some books helped me to become meditat...

This is a brilliant reminder. Meditation has helped me get out of my head and into my present surroundings. It's admittedly quite difficult to train my mind to be still especially when we are always moving 100mph. But it has helped me see the world differently. I am learning to truly FEEL every moment. To slow down and taste my coffee fully or to be able to stop thinking for a minute and just focus on what my fingertips are touching without rushing on to the next thought.
Meditating has helped me understand that a fast paced life does not mean a productive life. Just as we let our bodies sleep, we need to also let our minds rest.
And in terms of coding, I am slowly getting better at not getting so overwhelmed when something isn't working, but instead, being able to take a step back and pause, reset the mind, and then go back again with a fresh head.
Thank you for sharing Thu.
Thanks for sharing your experience, Zedvas.
We've got a lot of knowledge from your well-explained comment.
Keep going on that!
One thing I cannot do with meditation is clearing my mind. When I go for a walk (alone) my mind fills quickly with all kinds of things. Same thing when I go for a bike ride, or when I take a shower. This often triggers the eureka effect. (The whole point of "walking away (from your screen)")
The way I clear my mind, or at least relax my brain, is by watching simple entertainment like TV shows and movies.
Thanks for sharing your experience, Michiel.
watching TV shows or movies is really nice for relaxing our mind.
But if you really do meditation, you can feel how it is great.
You said that when you go for a walk, your mind fills quickly with all kinds of things..right?
In this case, I would like to suggest you some if you don't mind.
In meditation, we need practice.
As example, Let's say you are a table tennis player.
if you've practiced table tennis so well, you can predict table tennis ball trajectory in every time you play in the field.
If you don't practice, it is hard to predict about the ball trajectory because it is jumping from one to another.
Same with that example, you need to practice meditation by giving its own time.
Give some time to do only meditation.
Then, practice.
Once you've passed some meditation times, you can predict what you are thinking in wherever you are.
It is just a suggestion for you from me.
But you know, sometime we need some relaxing things like watching movies or TV shows. So, keep it simple.
Excellent article. I am doing meditation daily since 2016 and it has helped me immensely.
Thanks for sharing your meditation experience, George.
