The backup camera (rear view camera) is one of the most important safety features of the LAMTTO RC series CarPlay system. It helps drivers park and reverse safely by providing a clear rear view.
However, during installation or daily use, users may encounter issues such as reverse camera not displaying, screen not switching when reversing, "No Signal" error, flickering or unstable image, and incorrect image orientation.
The good news: Most of these issues are caused by wiring or setup and can be fixed easily.
1. How to Install the RC Backup Camera
- Connect the camera cable to the AV input port under the screen
- Connect the red trigger wire to the positive terminal of the reverse light
- When shifting into reverse gear, the system detects the signal and automatically displays the rear view
Important: The reverse light only activates when the car is in reverse gear.
2. Backup Camera Not Showing When Reversing
Solutions:
- Check if the red wire is connected to the correct reverse light
- Ensure the connection is firm and correct
- Reconnect the wiring if necessary
- If still not working → red wire or camera may be faulty
3. "No Signal" on Backup Camera
Solutions:
- Turn off the device
- Reconnect the AV cable firmly
- Restart the system
- If still no signal → camera may need replacement
4. Image Flipped or Reversed
- Rotate the camera physically (for upside-down issue)
- Adjust mirror settings in system menu
- Note: Some models (e.g., RC07) may not support mirror settings
5. Camera Flickering / Unstable Image
Solutions:
- Reconnect camera cable securely
- Remove SD card and test
- Reset device
- If unresolved → hardware issue
6. Parking Line Calibration
- Go to Settings → Reverse Settings → Calibration
- Adjust guide lines on the screen
- Save settings
7. Third-Party Camera Compatibility
LAMTTO RC systems are designed to work with original cameras and official LAMTTO cameras. Third-party cameras may not be supported.
8. Does the Camera Have Night Vision?
Some models (e.g., VGA BC723) include built-in lighting.
Final Thoughts
Most backup camera issues are caused by incorrect wiring, loose connections, and incompatible accessories.
