I wouldn't ding anyone for not admitting to having seen the problem before, but let's not pretend it doesn't make a difference.
Seen or not, though, I feel like you can't really fake communication skills and clarity of reasoning, so your interviewer will at least have those things to go off of.

Of course it makes a difference, but that is the point of experience. The more you know, the better you should perform.
