Building a UK PropTech comparison site from zero — 3 months of SEO data
The product
Moving Compared (movingcompared.co.uk) is a comparison platform for people buying or selling a home in the UK. Compare conveyancers, surveyors and removal companies in one place — something that didn't really exist in a clean, consumer-friendly format before.
Where we started
We launched in March 2026 on a brand new domain:
- Zero domain authority
- Zero backlinks
- Zero organic traffic
Standard starting point for a new site.
3 months in — the numbers

The impressions trend tells the real story — relatively flat through April, then a steady climb from mid-May that's continued through June. Around 10 weeks of foundational work starting to compound.
What we focused on early

Structured data — JSON-LD
@graphpattern on every page from day one (Organization, WebSite, BreadcrumbList, Article, FAQPage) - Citation building — 30+ directories for NAP consistency and entity signals
- EEAT — author attribution on content
- Content — regular publishing with a very small team, supported by internal linking throughout
What's next
CTR is low, which makes sense at an average position of 35. The focus now is pushing that average position below 20, at which point clicks should start moving meaningfully.
Backlinks are the current priority — directory citations, editorial roundups and community platforms.
