Something is wrong here. 1.5M (WebP) vs 452kb (disable WebP)

  1. Loading this page in Chrome 88 (incognito).
  2. Turn on Network panel with images only
  3. Refresh page and scroll to bottom and top again (force lazy loading).
  4. 1.5MB / 1.7MB transferred

  5. Turn on "Disable WebP image format"

  6. Refresh page and scroll to bottom and top again (force lazy loading).

  7. 453kB / 577kB transferred

When WebP is enabled, this page loads https://cdn.hashnode.com/res/hashnode/image/upload/v1612505293767/vjPtsD8vB.webp which is 1.2MB image of a cat.

Ah thanks, Tyler, this use-case examined is a bit off indeed, since I use two different images.
It would be a better use-case if it was the same image, in both formats, but then people wouldn't see the difference, hope that makes sense?
