Step into the Cloud: How to Create a Windows 11 Virtual Machine on Azure

Virtual Machine: A virtual machine is like a computer inside a computer. It is a computer that is based on software and has its own operating system and applications.
A software-based version of a Windows 11 machine that runs on your current computer or in the cloud is called a Windows 11 Virtual Machine (VM). It provides flexibility, remote access, a secure environment for testing or work, and the entire Windows 11 experience without the need for additional hardware.

  • Step 1: Create a free trial account in Azure
  • Step 2: Login to Azure Account (portal.azure.com)
  • Step 3: In the "Search resources, services and docs" field, type “virtual machines”. From the list of search results, click on the “Virtual machine” option. vm
  • Step 4: Click the “Create” button to start the virtual machine creation process. create
  • Step 5: Then click on azure virtual machine reate
  • Step 6: Select the appropriate subscription and create a resource group by clicking the create resource group button and giving it a name. details
  • Step 7: Enter details about the virtual machine we’re creating. Provide information about our virtual machine, such as the name of the Virtual Machine, the operating system, size, and other configuration settings. details
  • Step 8: Create an Administrator Account. We need a username and a password in case we need to connect to the Virtual Machine account
  • Step 9: Select the inbound port rule as RDP for our windows VM. (This is needed just incase we want to connect to the virtual machine as it will allow IP address to connect to the VM created.) RDP
  • Step 10: Check the licensing. By default, this is unchecked, click the box to have it checked check
  • Step 11: Click “Next” till we get to boot diagnostics in the Monitoring tab, and click on “disable”. disable
