Valu VC's Year in Review: Lessons, Deals & What's Next

The Beginning of Our Journey

When we founded Valu VC in 2023, we set out with a bold mission: redefine early-stage investing by going beyond just writing checks. We wanted to be true partners โ€” co-builders, mentors, and catalysts for the next generation of technology companies.

๐Ÿ’ก 5 Lessons We've Learned as Early-Stage Investors

After 20+ investments, here's what we know for certain:

1. Team > Idea
A great team with a mediocre idea will pivot to success. A mediocre team with a great idea will fail.

2. Speed is a moat
In early-stage, the startups that win are the ones that ship fast, learn fast, and iterate fast.

3. The GCC is underestimated
Western VCs are sleeping on the Middle East. The talent, capital, and ambition are there โ€” and growing rapidly.

4. Capital alone isn't enough
Founders need operational support, introductions, and mentorship just as much as money. That's why our venture studio model works.

5. Exits require planning from Day 1
We work with our portfolio companies on exit strategy from the very first board meeting โ€” not as an afterthought.
