Globally, close to 800 000 people die by suicide every year; that’s one person every 40 seconds. For each suicide, there are more than 20 suicide attempts.

In India , it's every 3 minutes. A life is lost feelings unheard or misunderstood.

These figures are a cause for concern . Mental health has remained a sidelined topic in India for decades. Seeking guidance or therapy is seen as a taboo . All illnesses are clubbed together under ‘Madness’ . The fear of judgment and the restricted stage provided for getting help leads to many lost lives. What should be seen as a mandatory subject is taken lightly. The youth are suffering in a silent struggle. *HERE WE NEED YOUR HELP. *

This Petition is meant to urge the Supreme Court for mandating mental health education as a compulsory subject in schools from the first standard. The moment a child enters school , they feel different emotions for the first time , form connections beyond family and may struggle to fit in sometimes . By early education about mental health and emotions , one can nurture their foundational life skills . They can understand their emotions and family and friendly dynamics better , preventing a childhood filled with sadness and loneliness and in turn have a better future.

This Petition requires 10,00,000 ( 1 million ) signatures before filing a PIL in the Supreme Court. Your signature will help - strengthen the PIL , raise awareness, and drive a movement.
