TrailMate AI: An AI That Wants You to Stop Using It

This is a submission for the Hacktoberfest Open-Source AI Challenge Week 1: Touch Grass

What I Built

🌿 TrailMate AI — Go Outside. AI Will Wait.

TrailMate AI is an outdoor companion designed around one simple idea:

What if an AI product actually wanted you to stop using it?

Most AI applications are designed to keep users on a screen. TrailMate takes the opposite approach.

It gives users simple outdoor missions that encourage them to walk, explore, observe nature, and discover things around them.

For example:

  • 🌳 Find two different trees
  • 🍃 Find three different leaves
  • 🐦 Listen for different outdoor sounds
  • 🔎 Find something you've never noticed before
  • 🌎 Explore your surroundings for 20 minutes

The app tracks outdoor time, completed missions, discoveries, and generates a Touch Grass Score.

The goal is to make the screen the shortest part of the experience.
