Good question, got me thinking... 3 things I would've done differently, had I started this today, for sure...
Gotten help - I would've definitely gotten a mentor, a friend to bounce ideas off and to introduce me to people when necessary.
Raised an Angel round - Now, I'm a big fan of bootstrapping. But, I would've definitely found an entrepreneur friendly Angel investor to give me a $100K at the least, especially once I started getting enough traction.
Stopped writing code and started selling! - Don't get me wrong, I feel as developers, we hide behind building products and put off going and talking to potential customers. I did the same then, never went out and talked to potential advertisers and instead was wasting time building an advertiser back end.
