yeah, that is a bold statement and I hadn't really heard (yet) much against the use of cross-platform frameworks. But it took all of 2 seconds googling to find some very reasonable support for your statements.

I think the biggest thing about frameworks and libraries now days, is the constant (perceived) promise of reduced complexity. But the reality is ALL of the complexity is still there, it is just shifted around under a layer of abstraction elsewhere. And it takes time and effort to get good at using a specific tool. The difficulty now days is that if your were to take the time to get really great at a library or framework, by the time you've mastered it, it's not the HOT NEW THING anymore and there is something else that you have to ABSOLUTELY learn/use. (actually it will probably be closer to 3 more things). It is a really exciting time to be a developer right now, but it will also be nice if/when things slow down and stabilize a bit.

I definitely resonate with the "shut my trap and get to work" mentality, it is a highly undervalued skill LOL!
