How to See Audio Visualizations in VLC Media Player?

When you play the song or any audio without video, the VLC media player will display the black screen to you. With the help of the audio visualizations feature, we can add some gorgeous visual effects with multiple colors that make us feel even better. This feature makes the VLC player more interactive. How to Turn On Visualization Effects in VLC?

To turn visualizations on in VLC Media Player, do as follows.

  • First, you need to launch the VLC Media Player program on your PC.
  • Click on the Audio tab , select Visualizations from the menu, and select a visualization option as you wish.
  • VLC provide some default visualization effects such as Spectrometer , Scope , Spectrum , Vu Meter , Goom and ProjectM.
  • Every effect has its own style. You can switch between them and select the one you want.

Note: The Visualization options are disabled by default. When you play an audio or video on your VLC, then it will be enabled automatically.

  • For instance, here, we select the Spectrometer option.

  • Alternatively, you can also select visualizations by right-clicking while your audio is being played.
  • It will display the right-click menu , you have to click Audio -> Visualizations -> select a visualization effect as you need.

Types of Visualizations Effects Available in VLC:

As you can see from the above images, You can easily enable the Audio Visualizations effects while playing music files. Seven default visualizations effects are available. Let us know the list of the visualizations effects below:

  • Spectrometer
  • Scope
  • Spectrum
  • VU meter
  • Groom
  • ProjectM
  • *3D Spectrum *

Spectrometer Effect:

You can enable this effect by choosing the “ Spectrometer ” option. The interface of this effect will be like colorful circle-shaped spectrometer effects will be vibed along with the music playing in the VLC. The screenshot of the Spectrometer effect has been added below:

Scope Effect:

Scope effect the second one in the list of audio visualizations. You can enable this effect by choosing the “ Scope ” effect. The scope effect is visually like the two crumbled blue and red colored current waves vibing along with the music playing in the VLC. The screenshot of the Scope Effect has been added below.

Spectrum Effect:

You can see the spectrum effect placed below the scope effect. You can enable this effect by choosing the “ Spectrum ” effect. It appears to be like number yellow and green color graphs with small beats jumping on the top of the bars vibing along with the music playing in the VLC.

VU meter Effect:

You can enable this effect by choosing the “ VU meter ” effect from the list of the visualizations in the VLC player. This effect contains two meters having the colors “ Green, Orange” as the Gauge and Purple color as the Gauge needle. You can find the screenshot below.

Groom Effect:

The Groom effect is a mixture of random effects combined and varying along the music played in the VLC player. You can enable this effect by choosing the “ Groom ” effect. We add a simple screenshot of this Groom effect below.

ProjectM Effect:

You can enable this effect by choosing the “ ProjectM ” option under the visualizations menu in the VLC player. This effect appears to have the word “ProjectM” vibing along with the music playing in the VLC. You can find the screenshot below.

3D Spectrum Effect:

You can enable this effect by choosing the “ 3D Spectrum ” option under the visualizations menu. This effect has numerous colorful bars vibing in a 3D way , along with music plays in the VLC. We added the screenshot of this effect below.

Steps to Turn Off Visualizations in VLC

Kindly use the following instructions to turn off the visualization effect in the VLC player.

  • You need to *launch the * VLC Media Player.
  • Under the Audio tab , click Visualizations , and *select * the *Disable * option from the sub-menu.
