T568A vs T568B: the only difference that actually matters (VOOHU)
TL;DR
T568A and T568B are TIA-568 pinout schemes for 8P8C RJ45.
Only difference: orange ↔ green pairs swapped. Pins 1/2/3/6 change; 4/5/7/8 identical.
Electrically identical — both do Gigabit, 10G, PoE.
Same standard both ends = straight-through. A on one, B on the other = crossover.
Crossover is basically dead thanks to Auto-MDI-X.
Golden rule: pick one and stay consistent end to end. B dominates US commercial; A in residential/gov.
