Great overview. I've worked as a web developer/designer at startups for years and while the process has changed a little, it essentially still boils down to design -> static prototype -> developers build -> test (maybe ;) ) -> launch.
It's not boring to me, I appreciate the routine and the structure of the process. Plus, constantly being able to work on + push out new features is actually really fun. Webapps evolve so quickly that you can find yourself working on all different parts of the site in a single month.
