The data is collected via a bunch of different NodeJS cron jobs that run every night. They hit various APIs as well as sites to gather information and construct JSON from it. This includes Lonelyplanet, Canada.gov, Flighthub, SmartTraveller, Tripadvisor, Google Search Cards, and Wikipedia. Plenty of other smaller sites too.
The data is then used to deploy a new version of the website every night or so.
