My opinion is ts can help but can't help a lot, you should be clearly know what you are doing not just depend on ts enhancements. js is very easy to read but ts is not, and js is more sufficient when you know exactly what you are doing. Most type issues I encounter are running issues, static type checking won't help. I love js as a small and easy-readable language, so I won't choose ts, though ts is not bad at all.
