I rebuilt Tally as a free form builder — no account, your forms live in your browser
I am a school teacher from Pakistan, not a software engineer. I build free tools with AI assistance. This one is a rebuild of Tally's form builder: 13 block types, shareable form links, a submissions inbox with CSV export, and 8 starter templates.
Try it: https://tally-clone.pages.dev/
Code: https://github.com/zhbhaider-coder/tally-clone
What it does
Build a form from 13 block types — text, email, multiple choice, dropdowns, ratings, file upload and more. Publish it and you get a shareable link (form.html?id=...). Responses land in a submissions inbox in your browser, and you can export everything as CSV. Eight templates cover the common cases: contact, feedback, job application, event RSVP and so on.
Why it is free
There is no server and no account. Everything — your forms, their published links, every submission — lives in the browser's localStorage. The page is static, hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Measured about 155x lighter than the original — a smaller page, not a speed claim.
What it honestly cannot do
This is the trade-off of having no backend, and I will not hide it: submissions live in the respondent's browser, not in yours. There are no email notifications, no integrations, no team workspaces. If you need responses collected centrally, this is not your tool — yet. It is Unofficial and not affiliated with Tally.
What it is good for: quick forms, polls, and feedback where the person filling it in keeps their own copy and export.
How it is built
Vanilla HTML/CSS/JS. Forms are JSON in localStorage, the editor renders blocks from that JSON, the inbox reads it back, and CSV export is a Blob download. No build step, no framework, no tracking.
What is next
The honest roadmap item is a real backend for central response collection — that needs accounts and a database, which is a different project. Until then: try it, break it, tell me which block type is missing. That feedback is how the tools get better.
