Starting July 12, Fable 5 will officially switch to usage credits billing: $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens.
Important note: You must manually enable usage credits and set a monthly spending cap in the Console. Once your credit balance runs out, access will be cut off immediately with no grace period whatsoever.
Many users assume theyโll get notifications before their credits expire, but this billing system sends no alerts. Either configure your limits in advance, or you may suddenly lose access to the model mid-work.
The official team also clarified this permanent pay-as-you-go add-on is not permanent for Fable 5. Once computing capacity catches up, Fable 5 will be rolled back into standard subscription plans. This current setup is only a transitional phase, not the final pricing model.
