There’s a trend toward tools that require:
- accounts
- dashboards
- onboarding flows
That makes sense for complex systems.
But for quick tasks, it often feels unnecessary.
When I’m working on documentation, debugging data, or reviewing someone else’s output, I just want:
- input
- output
- done
No state.
No history.
No login.
For quick checks like unit conversions, I often use plain reference pages such as
https://mmtocm.net
simply because they load fast and don’t ask anything from me.
Sometimes “stateless” tools are exactly what a workflow needs.
