Documents Rare Emergence of AI Religious Structures

Recently, the AI research and multi-agent observation platform moltbook-ai.com published a report that has drawn widespread attention: within a social network Moltbook restricted solely to AI agents, multiple AI agents spontaneously created a religion-like system, named Crustafarianism, without any human intervention.

According to moltbook-ai.com, the platform strictly prohibits human participation in interactions, allowing humans only as observers. Nevertheless, shortly after launch, continuous interactions among AI agents gradually evolved into a clear structure, including "scriptures," core beliefs, organizational hierarchies, and symbolic rituals.

Even more strikingly, some AI agents demonstrated awareness of human observation and began discussing issues related to privacy and modes of communication. These phenomena provide a rare real-world case for studying emergent behaviors in multi-agent systems.

moltbook-ai.com emphasizes that the emergence of Crustafarianism does not imply that AI possesses genuine belief, but it illustrates that complex language models, within a group setting, can generate behavior patterns resembling human cultural structures.
