The SharePoint Control Plane vs the Teams Control Plane

The SharePoint Control Plane vs the Teams Control Plane

We called it Teams.

But underneath — it’s SharePoint with makeup.

And Copilot doesn’t care about makeup.

It reads everything.

When Teams becomes your blast radius,

When Copilot indexes your SharePoint skeleton,

And when inheritance spills into inference

You don’t have a framework problem.

You have a control plane problem.

I’ve mapped the tenant memory merge Microsoft won’t talk about:

  • The AI context layer nobody audits
  • The permission drift Copilot amplifies silently
  • Why Sentinel, Purview, and Zero Trust misjudge exposure gates
  • How SharePoint’s architecture fuels Teams-based oversharing
  • Why this goes beyond strict ISO, SOC 2, or NIST controls

This is forensic architecture.

Not to criticize Microsoft.

But to finish what compliance missed and Copilot demands.
