It's 2022 you might be thinking why do I need a website for my new business when we all have social media. Those guys on Tik Tok look like they're doing ok, right!
Whilst social media is a great way to promote your business and can lead to great results. Having a website can help increase sales and reach thousands of people who wouldn't ordinarily see your content on social media channels.
Here's a list of 5 reasons why your business needs a website in 2022!
1) Unlimited reach
Google currently processes around 3.5 billion search requests a day, which works out at around 1.2 trillion a year or 40,000 a second. If you haven't got a business online your potentially losing out on thousands of customers. Whilst it's not as easy saying put your website online and you will reach billions of people. If you were able to reach 0.000001% of google searches that's 3500 potential customers daily you may have not reached through social media alone.
2) Business Credibility
If your anything like me the first thing you do when you need a service is use a search engine and type 'service' near me. The first thing I will do is look at the results on the business section and if someone listing a service without a website I can look at, I can guarantee 99% of the time I won't even consider using that persons business.
It's a simple fact that when people want a service/product the first thing the will do is google it. If people have not used that service/product before they want to see a website and reviews for that product/service. If you haven't got a website that customer is going to completely ignore your business.
I just googled 'Plumbers near me'. From the results, 4 of the first 10 plumbing businesses close to me do not have a website. Guess which 6 I'm looking at first, I'm never even contemplating the other four.
3) Earn More Money!
To sell your products/services. Billions of pounds are spent on the internet every year. Having access to just a tiny slice of that could turn your part time Facebook business into a fulltime gold mine. If your already selling a product/service on social media, increasing that revenue through a website is an absolute no brainer.
4) Generate future customers
By having an online presence your are able to gather information such as email addresses or other contact info which can later be used to generate further sales. Whilst no one likes sharing their info and being spammed. Having a website with good engagement and offering value to customers could result in sales further down the line with well timed marketing campaigns and offers.
5) It's cost effective.
Whilst setting up a website can seem expensive initially and often confusing. The cost of setting up a brick and mortar business is often way more expensive and comes with higher ongoing maintenance costs. General running costs for a website are minimal with unlimited earning potential. A website is an absolute must for anyone with any type of business. There are so many ways to earn from your website any initial costs can be quickly recouped.
