I’m excited to share that I’ve recently started a new learning journey with Harkirat Singh as part of #100XDevsCohort3, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride so far! We’re now in week 4, and while it’s been an incredibly enriching experience, it’s also felt like navigating treacherous waters.
So, why “treacherous waters”?
Well, I’ve decided to dive headfirst into #webdevelopment from scratch, all while trying to wrap my head around Web3 concepts. It’s definitely challenging, but hey, that’s where the magic happens, right? As the saying goes, the best sailors are tested in the roughest seas.
I didn’t start this journey on day one, though. I actually joined a bit late — somewhere in the middle of week 2 — because I was on the fence about whether to commit to the course. But once I made the leap, I’ve been playing catch-up and loving every minute of it.
We kicked things off with the basics — HTML tags, CSS styles, and getting to know flexbox. I even managed to create a basic VS Code landing page, which felt like a win! Then we moved on to some blockchain fundamentals, like why crypto was created, proof of work (which I’m still trying to fully grasp), and hashing algorithms.
Week 2 was a bit of a scramble for me as I tried to get up to speed, especially with JavaScript. Learning the basics like promises, sync vs. async, and callback functions was a challenge, but by week 3, I was diving into DOM manipulation and managed to create a simple To-Do app — which was super satisfying.
There’s still plenty more to catch up on when it comes to blockchain, and in my spare time, I’m also dabbling in video editing as a potential side hustle. It’s a lot to juggle, but I’m excited to see how well I can navigate these waters and come out the other side with some serious skills.
Here’s to embracing the challenge, learning in public, and enjoying the ride. The journey is just getting started, and I can’t wait to see where it takes me.
I will be sharing my updates here everyweek. Thankyou!
