The Cheapest Flight Isn’t Always the Best Deal

I’ve noticed something while comparing flight options:

The lowest fare often isn't the lowest real cost.

A ticket may look cheaper until you add baggage, seat fees, airport transfers, long connections, or restrictive change rules.

That's why I think flight comparison should go beyond the headline price.

When comparing options, I’d look at:

✈️ Total trip cost
🧳 Baggage included
⏱️ Total travel time
🔄 Number and length of connections
📍 Departure/arrival airports
🔐 Change & cancellation flexibility
⚠️ Self-transfer or connection risk

And if your dates are flexible, don't search only one day. A small date shift can sometimes change the entire price equation.

The interesting part is that different flight tools are useful for different stages—some are better for discovery, some for flexible-date research, and others for comparing booking options.

I came across a practical guide focused on using flight booking tools more strategically rather than simply chasing the lowest number.

Don't compare the ticket price. Compare the trip.
