A codex pet showcase roundup: the community pixel pets that stood out this month, what the best codex pets share, and how to get yours into the next pet showcase gallery.
What a pet showcase gallery actually collects. A codex pet showcase is a gallery of pets other people generated, grouped so you can see what the generator does with different kinds of input. It is not a contest with rules.
Community pixel pets and the styles people keep choosing. Community pixel pets cluster into a few looks. Most people land somewhere between "my actual animal" and "a creature that reads clearly at 48 pixels", and the entries that get saved most often are the ones that solved both at once.
What the best codex pets have in common. Looking across the best codex pets in this round, four things show up repeatedly. None of them require a paid plan, and all of them are decisions you make before you generate rather than after.
Getting your pet into the next showcase. Submission is informal: generate the pet, share it, and it becomes part of the pool people are looking at. What helps is including the input photo alongside the result, because that is the part other people learn from.
The part worth keeping: Generate a pet at codexpetgenerator.com, then browse what everyone else made at /blog. Full write-up is on the source blog.
