One of the most salient features of our Tech Hiring culture is that there is so much bullshit. Everyone knows this. Each of us contributes his share. But we tend to take the situation for granted.
Shame evaporates rather quickly when you find the safe space and the right people and you talk about it. so basically you did the right thing and should simply continue to do so!
