Architecture
The system consists of three parts: a Git Webhook receiver (listening for PR events), a code analysis engine (calling Claude API for analysis), and a comment generator (formatting results as GitHub PR comments).
Prompt Engineering
Design specialized code review prompts with role definition (senior code reviewer), review dimensions (security, performance, readability, best practices), and structured JSON output format including severity levels, issue descriptions, fix suggestions, and code examples.
Results
In iDev's internal testing, the AI code review tool identified 15% of code issues that human reviewers missed, primarily security vulnerabilities and performance concerns. Average review time was 3 seconds, significantly faster than manual review.
