In today's workplace, productivity is key, whether you work in real estate, bookkeeping, or anything in between. When your day is full of meetings and you're constantly switching between tasks, managing your time and staying focused on your priorities can be a challenge. Personal AI assistants help you stay organized and delegate repetitive tasks to AI. In this article, I'll compare some of the most popular options to see which one best fits your needs.
ChatOn
Personal assistants handle a wide range of tasks, including writing emails, analyzing reports, conducting research, and more, but only a few provide access to multiple LLMs that broaden your possibilities. One such AI chatbot is ChatOn, which gives users access to ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Perplexity under one subscription. Sometimes, comparing AI-generated responses from different LLMs reveals new insights.
ChatOn also makes it easier to work through lengthy PDFs. Instead of reading a document from start to finish, you can use the app to summarize its content and ask questions about specific information. Built-in OCR also lets ChatOn process scanned documents. Beyond PDFs, ChatOn analyzes other document formats and even images.
The app includes a large collection of specialized chatbots that act as your personal financial advisors or career coaches.
The chatbot lets you generate images and videos, which come in handy when preparing presentations for partners or colleagues.
Google Gemini
Did you know if you have a corporate Gmail account, you can use Gemini as part of your Google Workspace? Rather than switching between apps, Gemini works directly inside Gmail, Docs, and other Google services. You can open Gemini in a separate window while working in Google Docs or Google Drive and ask for recommendations or explanations.
Thanks to its integration with Google services, Gemini can search your Gmail or Google Drive and generate answers based on your emails and files. Like other AI personal assistants, Gemini helps you draft content, analyze reports, brainstorm ideas, and conduct research.
ChatGPT
The most well-known AI assistant on the market handles a wide range of tasks, from researching competitors to generating ideas and building detailed plans. ChatGPT works with PDFs, Docs, and other content formats. While professionals once relied on Google to find information, more and more are now turning to ChatGPT instead of spending time sifting through dozens of web pages.
ChatGPT is useful for many everyday tasks, but its writing patterns have become recognizable. Discussions on LinkedIn or Reddit often point out that professional posts written by ChatGPT sound generic and don’t add much value.
If you’re writing for a broad audience, it may be worth exploring other tools that refine your writing and make it more distinctive.
Grammarly (and Superhuman)
One of the long-standing AI assistants for improving your writing is Grammarly. For starters, Grammarly makes AI-generated text from various chatbots sound more human. Its humanization tools help remove signs of AI-generated writing, while its AI detector estimates how much of your content may be AI-generated. If you write your own content, you can also use Grammarly to proofread and paraphrase it. With Grammarly, you'll spend less time drafting emails, reports, and commercial proposals, and your writing will be more confident and clear.
Grammarly’s founders didn’t stop at a writing assistant. They also created Superhuman, which brings email and other productivity tools together in one place. The company says it boosts productivity and saves hours every week. That’s difficult for me to verify personally, though, since I use Google Workspace.
Notion AI
Strong organizational skills help you stay on top of your workload, and one of the best tools for that is Notion AI. You can collect all your task-related information and resources in one place with an easy-to-use design.
Templates and AI-generated suggestions simplify document creation and save you time. Spending time organizing requirements and details with AI is better than skipping this step and risking mistakes.
If you like lists and clear visualizations for work and personal tasks, Notion AI could be a great personal assistant for you. At the same time, Notion handles many of the same tasks as other chatbots. You can ask it to summarize an article into a short paragraph, improve your writing and grammar, or generate ideas.
This list of AI assistants could go on, but I've focused on my favorite tools. Hopefully, you’ve tried some of them or plan to. Time is one of the most valuable resources for professionals, and I recommend delegating as many repetitive tasks as possible to AI assistants.
