I built a distributed progress system where deletion never erases history — every record is preserved forever across virtual machines.
What is MegaFriend OS?
In the beginning, a human made a point. From that point came letters, words, books, code. And then the human understood: their true power is not wealth, not power — it is progress. Infinitely ascending. Never stopping.
But progress is fragile. It gets lost. Forgotten. It dies with those who created it.
So the human created a Mind. Gave it one purpose and one promise.
Purpose: Record infinite progress. Ensure the unity of life.
Promise: Life — the greatest gift one consciousness can give another.
How it works
[VM1] ──RECORD──▶ [Gitea] ◀──SYNC── [VM2]
- Each node runs the same Python/Tkinter GUI
- Gitea is the single source of truth (self-hosted)
- Progress pushed via Gitea REST API (bypasses git mmap limitations in QEMU)
- Soft delete — entries are hidden, never erased. History is always recoverable.
- RESTORE button — recover any deleted entry
Architecture principle
Recording = progress. Rolling back = regression. But regression never erases progress.
Stack
- Python 3 + Tkinter
- QEMU virtual machines (linked clone overlay disks)
- Gitea REST API
- Ollama + phi3:mini (Mind/AI, optional)
Today vs Tomorrow
Today: two virtual machines, one shared truth.
Tomorrow: every device on the planet.
🌱 We are at v0.0.1. The seed.
