How to model every setup
Use the same five fields for each piece of utility:
- Problem: the enemy action or space this setup must answer.
- Trigger: the sound, contact, wall state or teammate call that starts it.
- Execution: the position, aim reference and utility sequence.
- Conversion: who swings, rotates, plants or retakes after it lands.
- Fallback: the safe alternative when the original timing is gone.
This structure turns a clip into an operational note. It also makes weak setups easy to delete: if a lineup has no clear conversion or fallback, it probably does not deserve practice time.

Choose one setup for each job your agent can realistically perform. Sova or Fade can cover early information. Killjoy or Cypher can protect a flank or punish a predictable route. Viper or Sage can shape space and delay movement. Raze can clear close positions. A post-plant option should be treated as a separate job, not as the only plan.
Test one variable at a time
Run the setup from the same starting point and change only one factor: timing, wall state, landing point or escape route. Record failures as carefully as successes. A lineup that works only in an empty custom lobby but leaves no safe exit is not ranked-ready.
Add a pressure condition
After the mechanical input is stable, practice with a short timer. Then require a second action immediately after the utility: reposition, swing, plant or communicate the scan. This exposes setups that consume too much attention.

Utility that confirms an empty lane can save more time than a low-percentage molly.
The maintenance rule is simple: retest after map or ability changes, and retire any setup whose aim reference, timing or purpose no longer survives the current version.
