What Is Bow Chat?
Bow Chat is a shared workspace for business teams that work heavily on WhatsApp. It is a product built by Boni.
Instead of customer conversations scattered across personal phones, Bow Chat brings them into one place. Your whole team can see the messages, reply from the right number, run campaigns, and track whether responses happened on time.
It works with both regular WhatsApp numbers (via WhatsApp Web) and official WhatsApp Business API numbers.
The Problem It Solves
Most businesses end up managing WhatsApp the hard way.
A sales manager's WhatsApp has 40 groups with distributors. A support lead has customer chats on her personal number. The operations team is in three group chats that nobody checks in time. Nothing is tracked. Nobody knows who replied and who didn't.
This is a real, daily problem — especially for businesses with field teams, outlets, distributors, or many customer groups.
Bow Chat is the answer to that specific problem.
How It Works, In Plain Words
You connect one or more WhatsApp numbers to Bow Chat. Each connected number becomes an inbox.
Once connected, all the chats and groups from that number appear inside Bow Chat. Your team members can log in with their own accounts and work from the same shared workspace.
- An agent can reply to a customer from the correct outlet number.
- A manager can see what every connected number is doing.
- A campaign can go out to a contact list — and replies come back into the same inbox.
No more looking at seven different phones.
Main Capabilities
Shared Team Inbox
Bow Chat gives your team one workspace for conversations. You can add team members with their own logins. Each person can see conversations, reply, assign chats, leave private notes, label conversations, and track what has been handled.
Two modes for connecting WhatsApp:
- WhatsApp Web inbox: connects a regular WhatsApp number by scanning a QR code. This is useful for outlet numbers, field agents, or team members whose regular WhatsApp needs to be monitored centrally.
- WhatsApp Cloud API inbox: connects an official WhatsApp Business API number using Meta's setup. Required for template-based messaging, verified business names, and higher-volume campaigns.
Both types of inbox live in the same workspace. Your team does not switch between systems.
WhatsApp Group Visibility and Monitoring
This is where Bow Chat is genuinely different from most other tools.
When you connect a WhatsApp number as a WhatsApp Web inbox, the groups from that number come in automatically. Your team can see group messages and reply from the correct number.
Most WhatsApp API tools do not support group messages at all. Bow Chat does, through the WhatsApp Web path.
Advanced Group SLA (Separate Add-On)
For businesses that need to formally track response times in WhatsApp groups, Bow Chat offers Advanced Group SLA. This is a separate add-on accessed from a dedicated monitoring panel.
With Advanced Group SLA you can:
- Choose which WhatsApp groups to monitor
- Set response-time and resolution-time targets for each group
- Track whether staff replied on time (Met or Breached)
- Get alerts when a response or resolution is overdue
- See staff-wise activity reports and daily message counts
- Handle promise phrases — for example, a staff reply of "will revert by tomorrow" moves the resolution deadline automatically
- Export reports as CSV
Group SLA works by marking team phone numbers as staff and customer numbers as clients. The system then watches for the first staff response after a client message opens a request.
This capability is designed for businesses with active WhatsApp groups — distributors, client servicing, field coordination, outlet management — where accountability by group matters.
Campaigns and Broadcast Messaging
Bow Chat has a campaign builder for sending WhatsApp messages to a contact list.
With WhatsApp Cloud API inboxes, you can:
- Choose a pre-approved message template
- Select or upload an audience
- Schedule the send
- Track delivery, read, failed, and reply counts per campaign
Campaign replies come back into the shared inbox so agents can follow up.
For WhatsApp Web inboxes, Bow Chat also supports broadcast campaigns to groups or regular contacts, but this is gated (enabled per inbox by an administrator) and runs with slow, randomized pacing. The pacing is deliberate — sending too fast from a regular WhatsApp number carries ban risk, and Bow Chat makes that risk explicit before you proceed.
All campaign sends are tracked with a recipient ledger, delivery status, and attribution so you can see what worked.
Bow Assistant (AI, in Active Development)
Bow Chat has an AI assistant built in. It is currently live for specific Bow Chat inboxes and is under active development.
The assistant can:
- Handle incoming messages in the connected inbox
- Use conversation history and context before replying
- Hand off to a human agent when needed
- Record errors as private notes rather than sending them to the customer
Prompt editing and a customer-visible AI settings page are not available inside Bow Chat yet. This is an honest limitation to state.
AI usage is metered through a credits system, so usage stays predictable as the assistant rolls out to more accounts.
Voice Calling
Bow Chat has a voice calling capability for call-heavy sales and support teams.
This covers:
- Inbound calls routed to agents
- Call logs and missed-call follow-up inside Bow Chat
- WhatsApp Calling where the account is eligible (enabled separately by an administrator)
- Basic call history and routing group management
Outbound phone calling is also in progress. The voice capabilities are not the same as a full call centre product. They are designed for the team already working in Bow Chat who also takes and makes calls.
Email, Instagram, and Other Channels
Bow Chat supports email inboxes (Gmail and Microsoft/Outlook) connected through OAuth. Instagram direct messages are supported where the account has the required Meta app permissions. Facebook Messenger is available where enabled.
SMS is planned but not live yet.
Roles, Permissions, and Privacy
Bow Chat lets administrators create custom roles.
You can give an agent access to handle conversations without letting them see contact details. You can go further and hide even the contact name, showing only a contact identifier. This is useful for operations where agents should handle the work without seeing who the customer is.
All permission changes are recorded in an audit history with the signed-in user, action, affected scope, and before/after values.
Mobile App
Bow Chat has a mobile app for Android and iOS. Agents can handle conversations, reply, and manage assigned chats from their phone.
Who Is Bow Chat For?
Bow Chat is a fit for businesses where:
- Multiple team members need to work from the same WhatsApp number or a set of numbers
- Outlet or field team WhatsApp numbers need to be visible from a central workspace
- Customer groups need response-time accountability
- Campaigns need to go out from a managed WhatsApp sender with reply tracking
- A single shared WhatsApp account being watched from multiple phones is causing problems
Typical use cases include retail chains with outlet managers, businesses with distributor or partner groups, sales teams managing many client conversations, and service teams tracking resolution promises.
What Is Still Being Built
Bow Chat is actively developed. A few things worth knowing:
- SMS channel: architecture is decided, implementation is not live yet
- Bow Assistant AI: live for specific inboxes, prompt editing inside Bow Chat is not available yet
- Outbound calling: in progress, stabilization ongoing
- WhatsApp group SLA as a first-class core inbox feature: the current Group SLA product lives in a separate panel, not inside the main inbox view. This is a deliberate product boundary for now.
The product is honest about these gaps. If a capability is not ready, the team says so rather than shipping something that does not work.
How to Get Started
The fastest way to start is to connect one WhatsApp number and add your team.
- Open Bow Chat and sign in.
- Go to Settings -> Inboxes -> Add inbox.
- Choose WhatsApp Web if you are connecting a regular number, or WhatsApp Cloud API for an official business number.
- Follow the setup: scan the QR code (WhatsApp Web) or complete the Meta embedded signup (Cloud API).
- Go to Settings -> Agents and add your team members with their own email addresses.
- Start monitoring conversations from the shared workspace.
If your use case includes Group SLA, contact Bow Chat support to enable the add-on for your account and selected groups. It opens in a dedicated monitoring panel once enabled.
If you are running your business on WhatsApp and struggling to keep your team coordinated, give Bow Chat a look. It was built specifically for this problem.
