Rent A Brain App

April Fools Challenge Submission ☕️🤡

This is a submission for the DEV April Fools Challenge

What I Built

I Built a Completely Useless App That Thinks For You

Most apps try to make you more productive.

This one replaces your brain.

It started as a joke.

I was tired of overthinking simple decisions like:

“Should I do this?”
“Is this a good idea?”
“Am I overcomplicating everything again?”

So I thought:

👉 What if instead of thinking… I could just ask different versions of a brain?

Not AI.
Not productivity advice.
Not “top 10 tips to succeed.”

Something… stranger.

🧠 The Idea

I built a fake app.

It doesn’t calculate anything.
It doesn’t optimize anything.
It doesn’t even try to be correct.

It just gives you different perspectives.

From characters.

🎭 Meet the Council

When you ask a question, six “minds” answer:

🔥 Chaos Goblin

“Do it. Worst case? Great story.”

🧊 Cold CEO

“Define risk. If survivable, proceed.”

🌿 Grandma

“Will this bring you peace… or just noise?”

🎭 Strategist

“Don’t ask if. Ask when it wins.”

🌊 Drifter

“If it feels heavy… why are you forcing it?”

🛠️ Builder

“What’s step one? Do that. Then talk.”

That’s it.

No final answer.
No “best option.”

Just… six ways of seeing the same thing.

😂 Why It’s Completely Useless

It doesn’t solve your problem.

It doesn’t tell you what to do.

It doesn’t even agree with itself.

Sometimes the answers contradict each other completely.

Sometimes one of them says something so absurd you ignore it.

And yet…

🧠 Something Weird Happens

After a few questions, I noticed something:

I stopped looking for answers.

I started choosing perspectives.

Instead of:

“What should I do?”

It became:

“Which way of thinking feels right here?”

And that changes everything.

Most people don’t struggle with lack of advice.

They struggle with being stuck inside one voice in their head.

This “useless app” doesn’t fix decisions.

👉 It breaks that loop.

It shows you:

the impulsive version
the logical version
the emotional version
the strategic version
the intuitive version
the practical version

All at once.

And then quietly says:

👉 You choose.

🎭 The Interface (because of course it needed one)

It looks like a strange meeting.

A dim room.
Six characters sitting in front of you.
A warm light in the center.

You ask a question.

They answer.

No pressure.
No judgment.

Just… perspectives.
🖥️ What It Actually Looks Like

Imagine opening the app.

You see this:

“Your brain is tired. Borrow a better one.”

A simple input box:

👉 What are you overthinking today?

Below it:

Six characters waiting.

Not buttons. Not tools.

More like… personalities in a room.

You choose:

one voice
or
all of them

And press:

👉 “Consult the council”

The screen shifts slightly.

Like you entered somewhere.

Then they answer.

Not in paragraphs.

In short, sharp sentences.

Like people who already made up their mind.

Sometimes they interrupt each other.

Sometimes they completely disagree.

Sometimes one of them says something that hits a little too close.

There’s also a small button:

👉 “This feels too real”

If you click it…

They stop joking.

☕ Why I Built It

Honestly?

For fun.

And maybe because sometimes thinking alone feels like being trapped in a room with one opinion that won’t shut up.

🫖 Final Thought

This app is useless.

It won’t make you successful.
It won’t fix your life.
It won’t make decisions for you.

But it might do one small thing:

👉 help you see your situation differently

And sometimes…

That’s all you needed anyway.

If you made it this far, you’re probably not here for the app.

You’re here for the way of thinking behind it.

And if that’s the case…

You already know which voice you’ll listen to next.

How I Built It

Once upon a time i use my brain but it was not enough knowledge to do specific projects so i connect wit Chat GPT and now can create more useless things than before.
