Post learning thought #001

Hello there!

Wow. Finally. Here I am. With my first post (of this kind) ever. "Post learning thought #001".

I've took an AI course at University, quite some years ago I might add. Never payed to much attention to it until some years ago. When bot, chats, started sprouting all over. Using ChatGPT since 2023.

Yesterday, I've decided to take a closer look again, since we are, even if we want it or not, in an AI era.

Since I'm a .NET Sowftare Developer (mainly, anyways), I chose the learning path: Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals: AI Overview to make my 'first' steps, and to dip my toes in the AI ocean.

This post is specifically about the first module: Fundamental AI Concepts.

Long intro, I know.

From all key points about the responsible use of AI (Artificial Intelligence) stated in this module, listed below.

  • 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀
  • 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗰𝘆 & 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆
  • 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀
  • 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆

I think '𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆' is the most important one, since it wraps all of the above. And the one that is least taken into account, from my point of view.

𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆:

𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 that develop and distribute AI solutions 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. It's important for organizations developing AI models and applications to 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗮 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 help ensure that they 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗔𝗜 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀 to their work.

With so many actors using AI, left and right, with justifications for the indiscriminate use like "it's quick", "it saves me time/money", "it makes my life easier", "it saves me ". The potential introduction hazardous errors while interacting with or developing AI systems it's just around the corner.

Even though all those justifications are reasonable, based on what I've seen people and companies alike do to their products without AI. Negligence in security, privacy concerns, among others. I cannot begin to imagine what would be the result of the non cautious use of AI, not only in tech industry, but all over the place.

That's why we should be mindful when using and leveraging the power of AI. Be responsible. 😊

That's all.

If you got to this point. Thanks. You deserve a hug.

I have a long way to go in my learning journey. Any feedback is welcome.

AS.
