AI NEXTGEN CHALLENGE™ 2026: SHAPING AMERICA’S FUTURE AI INNOVATORS

Jensen Huang, the CEO of NVIDIA, said that “AI is the strongest technology driver in our era”, that he did not mean only Silicon Valley boardrooms. He had been referring to classrooms, dorm rooms, and the future generation of innovators who will define how we live, work, and solve the most important problems facing humanity.

Whether AI will change our world is not the question; it is whether the current students will be on the frontline facilitating that change, or they will be standing at the sidelines. Enter America's largest AI scholarship program: the AI NextGen Challenge™ 2026.

Why This Matters More Than You Think
The skills gap in AI is increasing at an alarming rate: in the world, only a small percentage of leaders are sure to find AI talent, and demand is soaring. In the U.S., the ability to perform a single digital skill will raise income by 23%, and 3 or more can boost salary by 45% (World Economic Forum, 2025).

The AI NextGen Challenge™ 2026 directly fills this gap: 20,000 students can win scholarships totaling up to $12.3 million, 200,000 students are going to receive the AI education, and 2,000 schools and colleges are collaborating to provide students with the demanded skills.

Three Tracks, One Nation
The USAII® AI NextGen Challenge™ 2026 targets three distinct groups through specialized certification tracks across USA Grade 9 to Grade 12 and college STEM students.
Grade 9 to 10 can pursue the CAIP™ certification, learning AI fundamentals, robotics, and deep learning.
Grade 11 to 12 advance through the ™CAIPa track, diving into applied machine learning and neural networks.
College STEM students tackle the CAIE™ (Certified Artificial Intelligence Engineer) program, mastering advanced concepts like MLOps, RAG architectures, and LLMs.

Each track meets students where they are, building from foundational concepts to cutting-edge innovations that employers actually need.

A note for Grade 9 to 10 students: The National AI Hackathon 2026 is for Grades 11 to 12 and college students only. However, you can get CAIP™ certified now to build your AI foundation and strengthen your chances for next year's competition.

The AI NextGen Scholarship Opportunity You Can't Afford to Miss

Beyond Certificates: The Real Prize
The AI NextGen Challenge™ reaches its peak with a National-Level AI Hackathon in Atlanta, Georgia, on June 20–21, 2026. Students who complete their certification programs by April 2026 will earn the opportunity to compete on this national stage.

From thousands of participants across partner schools, colleges, and universities, 250 of the nation’s most promising AI minds who qualify for the pre-hackathon will be selected. These finalists will form 50 high-impact teams of five, collaborating intensively to tackle real-world challenges through applied artificial intelligence.

The competition carries a $100,000 prize pool, with $25,000 awarded to each winning team. Yet, the true value of the hackathon extends far beyond prize money.

However, there is more than just the cash prizes, and that is exposure to AI professionals, recruiters, technology leaders, and the networking opportunities that open careers.

Take The Leap
The AI NextGen Challenge™ 2026 is not only a competition, but it is also an opportunity to learn more about AI, create, and meet the leaders of tomorrow. All participants get to gain expertise, mentoring, and experience to drive the next generation of AI innovations. Do you want to become one of the innovators?
