Founded by Sree Krishna Seelam, author of the international bestseller 5 Killer Habits, WeDidIt is an NGO dedicated to leaving the planet better than we found it.
The non-profit began its mission during the pandemic in 2020, a time when hope seemed lost for many in need. By 2021, it had already succeeded in winning an Economic Times Excellence in Social Entrepreneurship award.
Till date, WeDidIt has contributed to the education of 100 girls in rural India. Remarkably, the organization operates without soliciting donations. This raises the question: how do they do it without traditional funding? The answer lies in the power of volunteering.
Over 10,009 youngsters have generously dedicated their time and energy to WeDidIt's initiatives, driven by a shared commitment to making a difference. This is their secret.
_“For most people, their greatest happiness comes from helping others. Volunteering doesn’t just benefit others – you may find it brings you a deeper kind of happiness too.” _
This symbiotic relationship benefits both: the cause and its volunteers. On one hand, volunteering grooms individuals into empowered leaders; on the other, the organization’s initiatives and community-driven efforts continue to thrive and expand.
The volunteers also actively took part in the creation of the book 5 Killer Habits. Wherein, they interviewed the elderly for the book — seeking guidance from them and learning through their life experience.
Being a philanthropist himself, founder Sree Krishna Seelam has also vowed to donate all proceeds from his book sales to the NGO.
Some of the other initiatives run by the non-profit include:
- Helping to clean rivers
- Volunteering for farmers
- Recycling used books
- Organizing marathons

What this avant-garde NGO from India has accomplished is exceptional, and they do not plan on stopping anytime soon. They currently have two books in the works focusing on mental health and self-care. Furthermore, they recently launched their first AI-supported non-profit initiative, making legal services accessible and hassle-free for all.
Starting as a small effort to give back to society and blossoming into a huge community of future leaders is truly inspirational. The future looks bright in the compassionate hands of the volunteers at WeDidIt.
Their question to you is, “WeDidIt, will you?”
