I’m open-sourcing a new project called arkA, aiming to create a simple, neutral, decentralized video protocol.
Think “RSS, but for video.”
Key ideas:
• universal video metadata schema
• storage-agnostic (S3, R2, Arweave, IPFS, NAS)
• reference HTML/JS client
• optional HLS/DASH/CMAF segment layers
• creator-controlled distribution
• no algorithms, no tracking
Why it exists:
I’m a parent of both neurodiverse and gifted children. They consume a lot of video, and existing platforms are algorithmic black boxes that overstimulate, manipulate, or misguide their development. I want a healthier, predictable ecosystem.
Looking for contributors and architectural feedback.
