Amblyotube signal to noise ration


Snapchat, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Substack are drawing a line against AI-generated 'slop' — synthetic content that floods feeds and erodes trust. It's a necessary fight. But there's a parallel challenge nobody's talking about: what happens to human visual attention when the signal-to-noise ratio collapses? We built Amblyotube for people with amblyopia and visual coordination deficits — a Meta Quest app developed by Seven Sportz that delivers different visual input to each eye while you watch regular YouTube-style content. The app uses dichoptic training: the VR headset's two independent eyepieces present separate images, so the stronger eye. The goal isn't more content. It's training the visual system to process what's real, efficiently. Features like the Dominant Eye Shader apply adjustable digital occlusion (blur, contrast, brightness, opacity) to the stronger eye, while the Lazy Eye Sharpener uses AI to detect and sharpen human figures exclusively for the amblyopic eye. A magenta focus cue visible only to the lazy eye encourages cortical fusion and neuroplasticity — magenta chosen because it's rare in natural video. Visual Accents add optional yellow-green highlights, red outlines, and breathing-rate pulses to keep attention anchored. Sessions run 30–40 minutes, never exceeding one hour. The app logs session duration and eye‑specific performance metrics, letting users review progress in a simple dashboard. Regular updates add new video categories and refine the AI‑driven figure detection for smoother training. Designed for home use, Amblyotube requires only a Meta Quest headset and an internet connection for streaming content. This is a training and assistive tool, not a medical treatment, and complements professional care.
