When your Amazon listing shows "Currently Unavailable" to buyers while Seller Central shows it as "Active," the disconnect is confusing. Here are the 7 causes and how to fix each one.
The 7 Causes
- Zero inventory (FBA or FBM) - Create a replenishment shipment or update quantity. Resolves in 15 minutes after inventory registers.
- Price suppression - Amazon removed the Buy Box because your price is too high vs. other sites. Adjust price to within range.
- Listing suppression - A quality issue makes the listing technically active but not purchasable. Check Manage Inventory > Inactive (Suppressed).
- Stranded FBA inventory - Stock in the warehouse with no active listing. Go to Inventory > Fix Stranded Inventory.
- Account health restriction - Performance issue affecting listing visibility. Check Performance > Account Health.
- Category gating - Amazon added approval requirements to your category. Go to Catalog > Add Products to check.
- Fulfillment settings error - Misconfigured channel after switching FBA/FBM. Open and save the listing to trigger a refresh.
The key diagnostic step: view your product detail page as a buyer (open it in an incognito window). If it shows "Currently Unavailable" while Seller Central shows "Active," price suppression or a fulfillment error is likely.
