“ I have checked the documents of AWS to query, visualize and analyze data in grafana workspace using amazon managed grafana. Amazon Managed Grafana makes it easy and secure for data query, visualize and analyze. In terms of cost, the solution is cheaper and secure.”
Amazon managed grafana is a fully managed service based on the open-source grafana platform. It simplifies the process of visualizing and analyzing operational data at scale. This service is designed to help you monitor and visualize metrics, logs and traces from various datasources including graphite, influxdb, amazon managed service for prometheus and splunk.
In this post, you will experience the query, visualize and analyze data in grafana workspace using amazon managed grafana. Here I have created a workspace and user with access in amazon managed grafana.
Architecture Overview
The architecture diagram shows the overall deployment architecture with data flow, amazon managed grafana, aws iam sso user and grafana workspace url.
Solution overview
The blog post consists of the following phases:
- Create a Workspace in Amazon Managed Grafana with User Creation
- Accept the Invitation from Email with Set of User Credentials for Workspace Access
- Assign New User Created in Workspace with Viewer Access
- Output of Access Grafana Workspace URL
Phase 1: Create a Workspace in Amazon Managed Grafana with User Creation
- Open the amazon managed grafana console, create the workspace with required workspace name, grafana version, tags. Choose at least one authentication method with AWS IAM Identity Center SSO with the creation of a new user giving mail id, first name and last name. Once the authentication method IAM is enabled further, choose the permission type as service managed. Choose vpc, subnet, security group and network access control. Set the service managed permission settings with current account and amazon sns. Review the details and create the workspace.
Phase 2: Accept the Invitation from Email with Set of User Credentials for Workspace Access
Phase 3: Assign New User Created in Workspace with Viewer Access
Phase 4: Output of Access Grafana Workspace URL
Clean-up
Amazon managed grafana workspace.
Pricing
I review the pricing and estimated cost of this example.
Cost of Amazon Managed Grafana = $0 per free trial user per month for US East (Northern Virginia) x 1 Users = $0.00
Total Cost = $0.00
